"Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm, for love is as strong as death, its ardor as unyielding as the grave. It burns like a blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love, rivers cannot wash it away."
Song of Solomon 8:6-7
Our passion and purpose is to provide newly married couples the foundational elements needed for an enjoyable lifelong marriage and to see marriage in Houston wholly restored for God’s glory.
A JOY FILLED MARRIAGE
Yes! You can have a joy filled marriage! Marriage is wonderful, but hard. Just like life, it is filled with joy and suffering. This is because it is life being walked out as partners, actually taking two lives and walking through all that life brings together as one. Marriage can be both helpful or hurtful, encouraging or discouraging, amazing or difficult. It is, as Paul described in Ephesians 5: 32, “a profound mystery” how two lives join together to journey through life with purpose, mission, and blessing. You are in this together! That is God's gift to you. This is why at Love for a Lifetime we find marriage miraculous and exciting! We want to share with you the foundational tools you will need and encourage and support you as you enjoy the great adventure of marriage together!
WHO WE ARE
Love for a lifetime is a nonprofit marriage ministry for newly married couples located in Tomball, Texas, with accessibility to couples In Houston and its surrounding areas. The Purpose of this ministry is to encourage healthy thriving marriage through foundational workshops, quarterly date nights, special events, and various resources.
HOW DO YOU DEFINE MARRIAGE?
Is it really just a legal contract between two people in a bond that lasts until death? Why are so many marriages cut short by separation and divorce? Could it be that lasting marriages share little to do with legality and much more to do with overcoming challenges and incorporating relationship skills like good communication, selfless love, sacrifice, partnership, tolerance, and forgiveness? Marriage has always been a fundamental part of our community. Why are so many marriages failing in today's culture? Why should we get married?
At love for a lifetime, we have a different definition for marriage. We believe that marriage was created by God for a purpose. Our marriages are meant to be a reflection of his love for us, just as our individual lives are to reflect him and bring glory to him. Marriage creates a lasting covenant between two individuals who become one as they are united with and through the God that made and loves them. Marriage also creates a loving stable environment for the birth and nurture of our children.
At love for a lifetime, we offer couples foundational workshops in communication and conflict resolution, finance, sex and intimacy, and much more. We invite couples to join us for quarterly date nights to step away from the busyness of life to simply have fun and enjoy each other.
OUR MARRIAGE IS GREAT! WHY SHOULD WE ATTEND?
That’s great news! We are so happy that you are enjoying your marriage! We want you to know that we still want you to be part of Love for a Lifetime. Love for a Lifetime was not created for struggling marriages. It was created for all marriages especially newly married and young married couples. We know that even the best marriages will go through difficult times and that no marriage is perfect (that is the beauty of marriage). It is our goal to equip our couples with the essentials needed for this lifelong adventure. When the difficulties of the journey arise, you will have everything you need to know how to overcome them. You will be prepared to handle whatever comes and will have resources and support to help you get through your struggles without allowing them to destroy your marriage. It is our desire that you will be able to stand firm on the foundation you have intentionally focused on building in these happy times.
